This notice describes exactly what we collect – nothing more.

This legal page is currently available in English only.

Who we are

Charactly is an interpretive personality test (not a medical or diagnostic tool). It is run by a sole proprietor in the European Union, who is the controller of your personal data. For any question, or to exercise your rights, reach us at [email protected].

What we collect

Only two things, and only when you choose: (1) your email address, if you give it to save your result or join the waitlist; and (2) your test result – your type code and per-axis percentages, with a random public id. We do not collect your name, and there are no accounts or passwords.

If you allow analytics on the banner, we also record anonymous usage events to improve the site. Until then, nothing is measured. You can change your mind any time from the footer.

Like any website, our hosting and content-delivery providers briefly process the technical data your browser sends (such as your IP address) to deliver and secure the pages.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

Email and analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw any time. Test result: to deliver the result you asked for.

Where it's stored

On servers in the European Union. Your data stays in the EU.

Who else processes it

Resend sends our emails and so receives your email address. PostHog provides our EU-hosted analytics, and only if you consent. Cloudflare serves and secures the site, processing technical data such as your IP. Each works under a data-processing agreement; where a provider is US-owned, any transfer relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell your data.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your data, restrict or object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent – any time, by emailing [email protected]. We keep your email until you unsubscribe, and your test result until you ask us to delete it. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Cookies & analytics

We set no cookies or storage until you allow analytics. If you allow it, PostHog keeps a pseudonymous id and records how the site is used, including session playback, with anything you type masked – never your name or email. Withdraw any time from the footer.
